Ruptured popliteal cyst and pyogenic arthritis.
Chadwick et al divided a group of patients with supraspinal myoclonus into three categories.3 One group responded poorly to serotonergic drugs-namely, clonazepam and 5-hydroxytryptophan; a second group had proximal myoclonus, prominent spikes on the electroencephalogram, excellent response to serotonergic drugs, and physiological features suggesting that abnormal discharges originated in the br...

متن کاملCompressive Neuropathy of the Posterior Tibial Nerve at the Lower Calf Caused by a Ruptured Intramuscular Baker Cyst
Baker cyst is an enlargement of the gastrocnemius-semimembranosus bursa. Neuropathy can occur due to either direct compression from the cyst itself or indirectly after cyst rupture. We report a unique case of a 49-year-old man with left sole pain and paresthesia who was diagnosed with posterior tibial neuropathy at the lower calf area, which was found to be caused by a ruptured Baker cyst. The ...
متن کاملHemobilia caused by a ruptured hepatic cyst: a case report
INTRODUCTION Hemobilia is a rare cause of upper gastrointestinal bleeding. More than 50% of hemobilia cases are related to iatrogenic trauma from hepatobiliary procedures, and needle biopsy of the liver represents the most common cause. A minority of hemobilia cases are due to hepatobiliary disorders such as cholangitis, hepatobiliary cancers, choledocholithiasis, and vascular abnormalities in ...
متن کاملMassive hemoptysis caused by a ruptured subclavian artery aneurysm.
We report a case of left subclavian artery aneurysm, which ruptured and penetrated through the left upper lung parenchyma causing massive hemoptysis and a left hemothorax. Through sternothoracotomy, tangential aneurysmorrhaphy under proximal control and left upper pulmonary lobectomy were performed. The patient is doing well after nearly three years of follow-up.
